I was reading the book 'Consuming the body: Capitalism, Social Media and Commodification' by Dawn Woolley when I came across this line;
'Along with their mode of display, the commodities themselves are designed to be seductive. In Critique of Commodity Aesthetics, Wolfgang Fritz Haug says that commodities are enhanced using attractive packaging to cast 'flirtatious glances at the buyers', enticing them to make purchases.'
