New book find!

'Obsessive Consumption: What did you buy today?' by Kate Bingham-Burt

Kate Bingaman - Burt documented every item she purchased from the start of February 2006. She does this by drawing the thing once she's bought it. It becomes a visual form of a consumerist diary. The objects/things are usually very ordinary such as; Coke cans, Post-it notes, Toilet cleaner etc. Next to the drawing she labels the date of the purchase and sometimes the intention as well.

This made me think about how to create my own type of exploration by creating continuous documentation regarding my own consumption of goods. To consume and collect something that relates to consumerism. Receipts are another source of material that documents the purchase of a particular item.

Hint. hint.
